Full helmet, technical protection equipment, full suspension bike with disc brakes: the “gravity killer” arrived in Val di Fassa! Nothing to worry about, we are talking about downhill, one of the most extreme mountain biking, which drags the Dolomites into a whirlwind of pure adrenaline. Some compare downhill to motocross, others to downhill skiing. One thing is certain: it is not a sport for girls!
In Val di Fassa the downhill paths start up there, one step away from the great peaks. Fassa Bike Resorts Belvedere is easily reached by the ski lifts from Canazei (only 20 m from our structure). From the 2,000 m altitude starts the lightning downhill in the valley between skids, jumps, steps on wooden platforms, parabolic curves and dry slopes. You can drive down single tracks even at 70 km / h. Meadow, dirt, wood, mud: this is what the downhill fans have to expect in Val di Fassa. For the most part, you are standing on the pedals; the arms absorb the vibrations of the ground, the hands are firm on the brakes, the muscles of the legs well tense: it is a tsunami of adrenaline. At the beginning you rely on the instructors of Fassabike MTB School to learn immediately the rules of the “game”. Downhill is a sport with strong emotions, but do not be intimidated, it is practicable by all thanks to the tracks of varying difficulty. Of course, you have to be a bit ‘daring, have ready reflexes, know how to juggle with the mountain bike and, above all, maintain maximum concentration during the descent. It is mandatory to wear a helmet, back protectors, elbows and lower limbs. More info: Fassa Bike Park Belvedere Canazei
