Slowly the forest is tinged with the colors of autumn and, precisely in this atmosphere, when the streets of the historic center of Canazei empty, we went to discover the La Floriana house for you: for lovers of Canazei and enthusiasts of Dolomites is a must.
The La Floriana house is located in the historic center of Canazei, next to the church of San Floriano. The house was dedicated to the patron saint of the hamlet and of the firefighters. Looking at the ornate and decorated walls of the house, one magically enters a fairy tale. The feelings that the sculptor and painter who hides behind them have consumed emerge from the laces carved in the pine wood and from the bright colors.
The La Floriana house is not just a building, but the history of the Debertol family. Behind the thousands and thousands of colors that surround the windows overlooking Crepa Neigra is Giancarlo. His is a great passion for art, which has turned into a majestic work. Paintings, statues, paintings and lace need continuous restoration and for this reason Giancarlo spends most of his time in his bérstot (laboratory *). His first works appeared on the walls of La Floriana in 1970 and Giancarlo, even after fifty years, continues to decorate his majon (house *) with love, feeling and devotion.
POSITION. La Floriana house is located about 200 meters from our structure, easily reachable in 2 minutes on foot!
»We live in a Paradise: there are countless mountains and natural glimpses. I also depict religious elements. I tried to bring some nature back to the outside walls of my house, but not only that… the inside is also decorated».
