The Terrace of the Dolomites 2,950 m

Touch the sky with a finger surrounded by breathtaking views? Come with us to discover the Dolomite paradise!

Among the various panoramic points easily reachable from our house B&B Apartments Cèsa Planber Mountain View we certainly recommend that you reach the Terrace of the Dolomites 2,950 m, a unique place in the world, from where you can admire some of the most beautiful peaks on the planet such as the Marmolada, the Sassolungo and Sassopiatto, Piz Boè and the Catinaccio, up to the Pale di San Martino and the Swiss and Austrian Alps: from up here you will only hear the beating of your heart, amazed by the emotions that only a natural paradise like Sass Pordoi and the Dolomites can transmit.

Starting directly from Cèsa Planber, the Pordoi pass 2,240 m (12 km) can be reached by car, where in less than five minutes thanks to a modern cable car, you can reach the top station of Sass Pordoi 2,950 m. For high-altitude trekking enthusiasts, it is possible to reach the top on foot, following path 627 which starts near the departure station of the cable car and goes up towards the Forcella Pordoi refuge 2,848 m (height difference around 700 m, average time journey time 1h 40 min). The ascent by cable car allows adults, children and our four-legged friends to reach this marvelous uncontaminated place: we remind you that the little ones must be followed carefully once they reach the top, since there are various overhangs and peak. For a green holiday in harmony with nature, you can try the Trek Panorama Tour: departure directly on foot from our house with cable car No. 101 Pecol-Belvedere (20 m), to then continue to Col dei Rossi, and with a short walk of about 30 minutes to reach Passo Pordoi.

There are also numerous excursions that start from the Terrace of the Dolomites: the simplest one leads to the Forcella Pordoi mountain hut in just ten minutes, along an easy descent. From here you can then continue in the direction of Rifugio Boè 2,873 m (about 1 hour) and the top of Piz Boè 3,152 m (1 hour and 30 minutes): the latter are two of the most beautiful excursions to do in Val di Fassa to trained people with some experience in high mountain routes. In winter, for the most skilful skiers, challenging freeride and ski mountaineering itineraries. If the altitude makes you hungry, no problem: right in the arrival station of the cable car is the Rifugio Maria, which offers a large panoramic terrace, where you can enjoy a good platter of local cheeses or a second course of meat and polenta !

To fully enjoy this unique spectacle, we recommend visiting the Terrace of the Dolomites 2,950 m on clear days: only when there are no clouds can you admire the 360° panorama. We therefore advise you to consult our weather section with precise and correct forecasts, as well as live thanks also to the high altitude webcams. Don’t forget suitable clothing, better if onion-shaped, to which you can add a pair of trekking shoes; a mobile phone or a camera at hand to immortalize this postcard location is essential. We guarantee that once you reach the top, the view is breathtaking: it will almost seem like you are landing on the moon. . . but we will await your personal impressions!

We are waiting for you to admire all this beauty with your own eyes!
