Modern ski lifts, sports centers, multiple après ski activities and excellent childcare facilities ensure great fun. Beginners can appreciate the easy rhythms in order to overcome initial fears. You will dispose of schools, excellent instructors and special areas to introduce even the smallest to the snow, over 50 km of cross-country trails including the Marcialonga, the skicross park and the mezzotube. If you are an expert skier you will have available the main slopes and red trails. You can have fun with dizzying trails of the Marmolada (12 km) or with the panoramic red on Buffaure a Pozza, which stretches for 6 kilometers towards the valley, a scenic route that will leave you breathless for the beauty of the views. If you love the suggestions of night skiing, in Pozza you will find the black track of Aloch but in no case you will have to miss the Sella Ronda circuit, which covers 4 valleys and 3 provinces in less than a day.
The valley has kept its charm intact and its villages represent its icon of beauty with typical chalets and welcoming hotels. Canazei is the largest and most lively town. Follow the narrow cobbled streets of Campitello, where you will find the lively sports center of Ischia, a large complex with numerous sports facilities including a basketball court and minigolf. Enjoy the sulphurous waters of Pozza di Fassa and its idyllic dolomites. Vigo is nestled in the mountains, but has a direct connection to the Ciampic valley, while the fairy-tale Moena is perfect if you want to ski in Trevalli. But the greatest tranquility you can find in Soraga, the oldest village of Fassa, surrounded by a wonderful forest. The Val di Fassa is part of the Ladin valleys, with ancient Roman settlements in very ancient times, characterized by a cordial and sincere welcome.
Absolutely do not miss the typical dishes and traditional flavors of the valley that express the typical notes of this territory, poor in products of the earth because of climatic rigidity. Canaderli, the famous bread dumplings, lucanica, spinach ravioli, speck, mushrooms, venison, are just some of the local delicacies that you can taste in the many restaurants, shelters, taverns and huts. Do not miss the barley soup and the traditional polenta with sausages and sauerkraut served with melted cheese. You will find simple but also delicious pastry: to the classic apple strudel, with custard and whipped cream, you can alternate the “fortaes” fried donuts served with blueberry jam. The Val di Fassa cuisine is enriched with products from the Val d’Adige, from the olives of Lake Garda to the apples of Val di Non.
